Who We Are

Wagon Wheel Films is co-owned by Anne Bruder and Nancy Pokorny.

bio_ab Anne Bruder received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Notre Dame College of Ohio, majoring in Communications. She has held marketing, communications and project management positions related to higher education, community development, corporate sales and printing/publishing. Anne has worked with nonprofits, communities, corporations and individuals. She has acted in and directed several plays.

bio_np Nancy Pokorny has developed a broad business background since she majored in mathematics and graduated from Slippery Rock University. After receiving her Masters Degree in Education from Kent State University, Nancy left teaching and worked for a global consulting firm for 17 years. She worked with Fortune 1000 corporations on both technical and communications issues. A former Vice President of a nonprofit organization that focuses on the needs of small business, Nancy now works with a world-renowned health care provider, advancing the cause of wellness and health in people’s everyday lives.

Wagon Wheel Films

Wagon Wheel Films is an independent, women-owned filmmaking company serving nonprofits, small businesses and individuals. We help organizations and individuals communicate or promote their cause through a creative filmmaking process. We also produce documentaries.

After years of involvement in community, nonprofit, and corporate communications/ marketing, we created Wagon Wheel Films, which is named for a 19th century farm wagon passed down for three generations in our family. We chose the Wagon Wheel name because it connotes simplicity, hard work, sincerity and a focus on what’s real. We felt it was no coincidence that the old wagon wheels resemble old film reels—one creating stories as it rolls and the other telling those stories.
